Occasionally i lose power steering on my vauxhall meriva the same time the esp light appears on the dash does anyone know the cause. It s very intermittent because it s normally fine when it s cold i lose power steering and it becomes very heavy. Vauxhall meriva power steering fault causing loss of power assistance and eps light to come on the dashboard. In the car after the ignition all the lights go out and ok i start to turn the steering wheel left and right to the resistance and so on operation support stop turning.

I had the fluid flushed and it is. And how to fix it. It has done less than 50 000 miles and is an 05 plate car. Well it has happened sooner than i thought our meriva has had the dreaded eps light and power steering fault that so many meriva owners have reported.

Last night as i was going around a corner the power steering suddenly cut out and the eps light on the dashboard came on. Hello everyone i have a problem with opel meriva year 2006 engine 1 7 disel the problem relates to electric power steering. The car had a whole new engine fitted just last week which cost 2 577 44. As you may of gathered already i asume the meriva are somewhat common for column failure and normally its down the torque angle sensor unless the motor is at fault causing the intermittent loss of power steering.

Am i wrong in thinking that this is getting beyond a joke. I have an electric power steering problem on my vauxhall meriva. But the fault always becomes more permanent if left for long enough. I have gone through all the threads and nowhere has a definite answer what and exactly what.

Does anybody know if this will be expensive or hard to fix.
