I know that you can select maya default grid as floor but how do i do it.
Maya make object spin in place and roll on floor.
However there is extra flexibility in controlling the up orientation of the object.
You can use the multi cut tool to slice polygons along a plane and then extract or delete faces above or below the cut.
Hey i been using maya for a while now but have never really gone into the animation side of it not to keen on rigging setting up weights and all that jazz.
To slice a mesh using a custom plane select the mesh you want to slice.
Select modify transformation tools gt.
I want to use ncloth to destroy things in maya but then i i want the pieces to be not flat but 3d when it gets destroyed so the overall question is how to fill an object in maya make it a a solid because when you just make an object it s still hollow inside and when it gets destroyed the poises are justs all flat so i want to make it 3d.
The pretend classroom has a lot to catch up on with their mathematics science.
How do i add this ground floor.
Anyway i would like to know if there s a way that you can take an object and make it rotate on its own central pivot without having to key it every so many frames.
Robstites hitting f will focus on the object you have selected and should reset your view rotation zoom etc.
Select create nurbs primitives plane.
Addy and maya are back at toy school along with the silly teacher miss lucy.
Just started using maya so i don t know much.
A nurbs plane appears in the scene view.
To widen the green object starting from the base to the lower circular piece.
A path animation can use a curve on surface as the path curve.
Talking about the selected green part of the object i would like to keep it stuck to the object but reach until the lower object below it 5 cm longer than it s current state.
Open the multi cut tool.
An orange slice preview line appears between the slice points.
Arvid schneider provides a look at how you can snap and position objects against a curve in maya by using the often forgotten snap align position on curve command in maya which will evenly place objects along a curve.
A possible solution is that you could script a plane with a background material to an objects x z position such that the ground plane moves with the object and stays under it so you could essentially bounce a ball off to infinity which would be the far clipping plane with a finite ground plane that just moves in the x z plane and stays.
The workflow is identical to that when the curve is in world space.
When you re in the perspective viewport you may want to rotate your view around a selected object component.
Click on either side of your mesh to define two slice points.
